Emailing the team is always an option however, the team are very busy and there are a lot of merges of locked profiles that need dealing with.
Before emailing the team, it's definitely worth requesting to be added to the trusted list for the locked profiles. Often you will be able to complete the merges if you're on the trusted list, especially if you're on the trusted list for both profiles. I haven't worked out when you can and can't complete these merges. It seems to depend on the privacy levels, and also on what other private or unlisted profiles are attached. Someone else might know more about this.
If one of the profiles is green locked, and the other is open, and the profile manager for the green locked profile doesn't respond to a trusted list request, it's worthwhile to proceed with the unresponsive profile manager procedure, and you will then be able to complete the merge, or the team will complete the merge on your behalf when you send the unresponsive pm form through.
