How do you make the changes needed on a profile when the profile manager appears to be deceased?

Question

I made a profile when I first joined for my 3rd great grandmother. I soon found a profile that matches her, though with a couple of errors. (She's married to the right man, lives in the right place, has some of the correct children - there are more than listed but the ones listed have the correct name)

I private messaged the profile manager a few times with no response. I tried to merge the two profiles but I am not on the trusted list. So I asked to be put on the trusted list with no response. 

This profile manager was a prolific contributor with 848 contributions. But they stopped suddenly in Nov 2017. So I did some research on the profile manager and found him on FindAGrave. He died in 2018. His FindAGrave lists the same parents and sibling, same career and education as on Wikitree. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/187187419/william-thomas-spencer

I am sure it is the same person. I am at a loss as to how to make the merge of the two profiles for my 3ggmother.

Would you be willing to manage private family profiles that they were managing? This would be a great help to the WikiTree community and to the member's legacy. If there is no manager for their private profiles they will need to be deleted when we close the account.

Thank you Nancy. I have sent an email to the link you provided. I have also asked about becoming the manager for the private family profiles.

If there is an outstanding merge, send a note to Admin with the profiles that should be merged, stating it is your grandparent, since Admin can merge profiles when one is locked.

You can also tell them about the PM that is now deceased and maybe you can take over some of their profiles that will be orphaned when Admin adds the death date and releases the profile.  Note that any living profiles will probably be deleted at that time.

If the profile you are referring to is Mary (Anderson) Broome, the profile is Open so after 30 days, the merge will receive default approval and you can complete it
