Is anyone well versed at creating profiles for enslaved people?

Question

I have added a will for Presley Anderson that was written 1814 in Bath County, Kentucky. 21 Slaves are listed. Ages are not listed but boy and girl are used before many of the names. In one instance a family connection is mentioned. I am not confident in creating profiles for enslaved people and it seems I ran across a project at one time that works on profiles of this nature. I hope this information helps someone.

Thank you all. It is great to know I can add a category so the US Black Heritage Project knows there are profiles to be made. I will always add this category from now on, and can go back and add it to other profiles I have created or worked on in Kentucky.

I'm working on this for South Africa. There, the British administration introduced slave registers in 1816, which did help, but did not contain quite enough information to identify the slaves. The lack of surnames, and registration of fathers is a problem if you ever want to connect these people with modern times.

But at least you can try.
