I don't think it's boring!  His mother's father (Thomas Darcy King) was a butcher's son who became a baker, who mysteriously died before 1917 (my headcanon says he was drafted for the war and sent to the meat grinder).  His widow (Parky's gran) married a Yorkshireman (Fred Binns) who happened to be in Oxfordshire (my headcanon says a buddy from her husband's unit in the war, but that's total speculation), who took her and her two children back "home" to Yorkshire, where they had a daughter of their own (and possibly a son).  And that's just one generation, on one side!

So sad that Parky has died.  He was a large part of my growing up in the 70s.

I've added his maternal grandparents, if anyone has a FindMyPast subscription I'm sure they can improve the citations and possibly add information.

There are lots of threads to follow with his father's family, mother's family and now mother's stepfamily, it shouldn't be too difficult to get him connected.

He is connected to the global tree now. Who knew the great Yorkshireman was 50% Oxfordshire?
