Jane Swartwout (Swartwout-307) does not have a mother listed.  Anna (Gimair) Gomaar (Gimair-1) should be her mother.  What is the proper way to correct this?

Thank you for your interest in these early ancestors. For this time period, we look for evidence from primary sources. (WikiTree already has many contributed profiles and family connections for the period that were created from questionable sources, and we don't want more of those...)

What evidence do you have to identify Jannetje Swartwout as a daughter of Jacobus Swartwout and Anna Gomaar? There were several Swartwout families in that local area, so the last name alone is not good evidence that Jacobus is her father, and the fact that a WikiTree member connected her to Jacobus also is not evidence.

I see that Jannetje's profile cites Barbara Barth's book about the Dorland family. Is that the source for Jannetje's parents? (If so, is there a page reference that others of us could look at?)

Thank you Jim.  I will verify that I have sources and then add the comment.

Thank you Ellen.  Barbara Barth's book indicates on page 125 that the source for Jannetje Swartwout parents comes from Gumaer's  A History of Deerpark in Orange County and I will use that in my comments
