New Member Q & A via Zoom (August 2023)

Question

Are you new/newish to WikiTree and encountering some challenges in growing your branches?  These Zoom sessions hosted by Betsy Ko are for you!  The sessions are always recorded so you can watch later at a convenient time.  However, there's nothing like learning in real time and getting to ask your specific questions.  

Our two sessions in August are scheduled for August 3rd and 6th:

You can participate in several ways.  Each month we actively recruit one or two individuals to join each call who are willing to let us look at their profiles and talk about their WikiTree questions.  Ideally, those participating in this way would be:

• Up and running with creating profiles (even just a few!)
• Be curious about how things work on WikiTree
• Be willing to let us make some changes to the profiles they show us
• Be comfortable talking on camera

I am a new member [I had cancelled my WikiTree a yr ago & now I am back on] All my line is ALREADY in "the cloud" my # is 229.

Now today you post "VanDyne 229's X Chromosome Tree"

I click on to that & it says "private" because I am NOT on the "Trusted List" but I am #229???

Hi Rob,

First of all, welcome (back) to WikiTree!  I took a look at your profile and everything seems to be fine.  You are the profile manager and you're showing as an active member.

My best guess is that perhaps you weren't logged in when you clicked on the hyperlink for "VanDyne 229's X Chromosome Tree".  This frequently happens to me on my phone; I get logged out of WikiTree.  If you look in the upper right corner, it's easy to see if that's what happened because it will say "Login".

Thank you Betsy. I’ve been enjoying WikiTree for years. After joining the PRDH and genealogiequebec, I finally had the confidence to connect to the WT in June. The website has become less overwhelming but there are so many questions. I’ll start a list. Lol. Thanks again!

I would love to participate in the Sunday session.  Unfortunately I missed the Thursday session.  I did not realize.  Thank you for asking and permitting me to participate.
