Would You Like to Join the Italy Project? (Jul 2023)

Question

Ciao! Would you like to join the Italy Project?  

You don't have to have roots in a specific region or even have Italian roots to join the project. If you have a love for Italy and want to learn more while lending a helping hand, please join us.

The only requirements are that you:

• Are a WikiTree member holding the WikiTree Genealogist badge (because you've signed the WikiTree Honor Code) 

Follow the steps below and we will get your badge:

1. Review the project page and choose which projects teams you would like to participate with
2. Fill in the form so we can add you to the team pages you've indicated an interest in and add you to the project google group
3. Click ANSWER below, and indicate your interests

Both my maternal grandfather, and my paternal 2nd great grandfather immigrated to the United States of America from Italy. Both of them were born in the Apulia region, I would like to gather more information on the lineage and make connections with family.

Hi new friends!

I filled out the form. I’m so excited I found WikiTree. What an amazing site. My maternal great grandparents came to the US from Italy and I was raised by my maternal grandma and she passed some Italian culture to me. I have some genealogy info, not a whole lot, but would love to contribute and help however I can.

Hi,

I would like to join! My maternal grandmother’s parents emigrated to NY from southern Italy in the early 1900s. We have some information about my great grandfather’s Sicilian ancestors, but my great grandmother was Calabrese and we only have the names of her parents. I have not been able to get any further.

Thank you Chris Ferraiolo for inviting me to join! Both of my maternal grandparents have deep roots in Avellino in Campania. I've recently begun adding all of my ancestors' profiles to Wiki and adding links to documents. I'd love to help with the Southern Project. -Nicole
