PGM: Proposal to sever Thomas Goble of Charlestown & Concord, MA from father William Goble of Westergate, Sussex [closed]

Hi,

The Great Migration sketch on Thomas Goble doesn't identify an origin for Thomas. The Goble Family Association identifies the Charlestown, Massachusetts, settler Thomas Goble as the person by that name baptized at West Sussex in 1590[/91], calling his wife Alice Brookman, and reporting their marriage at Aldingbourne, Sussex, England, 5 November 1619.

Robert Battle has shown that the marriage almost certainly does not apply to Thomas Goble immigrant.  See g2g post from Feb: Comments on Alice (Unknown) Goble

Without the marriage record, there doesn't seem to be enough to connect the baptism and the father either.  I propose that we disconnect the father and use the birth estimate provided by Anderson: about 1604 in England.

Any concerns, objections? Thanks.

Does he appear in  Melinde Lutz Sanborn's Ages from Court Records, 1636-1700 (2014)? This was published well after the sketch in GM2 (2001) and may have new information. I'm afraid I don't have access to it.

That's a great resource...its on Ancestry, and there are some Thomas Goble depositions, but none for the immigrant.
