The only record for the birth of Edith Emma Coe, is England, GRO index, Cosford, Vol. 4a, page 416 q December 1862. Please note 1862, not 1863.

Cosford Registration District, in the County of Suffolk, includes the civil parish of Brent Eleigh.

No baptism record is apparent.

I saw that 1862, birth and thought it must be someone else. Everything else says 1863.

Evidently she was born in 1862 not 1863.  Does the budget run to ordering birth certs?  :)

Who's budget can we tap into? :)
If a particular census is taken prior to a persons birthday, the birth estimate can be off vs. if the census is taken after the persons birthday.
Yes.  But in this case the census ages are accurate - birth 4th qtr 1862, censuses in April 1871/81, so she was indeed 8/18 as stated.
