Why am I having problems applying italics on profiles?

When I chose the text to be italicized and clicked on the italics button it did something very weird. The chosen text was bolded and "Italic text" was inserted. This happened on three profiles: Dill-3077, Dill-3077 and Dill-3078.

It's an easy problem that is easy to fix.  If you enclose a section of text with a set of single quotes (appears like '' but is ' entered twice) on each side of the text, it will put the text in italics; more than the two ' makes it bold.  If you click the italics icon, it will insert the "insert text", however because that was next to something already in italics it made the following text bold instead of italics.

Hopefully it's now fixed for you.

Patrick is correct, once you know how it's easy.

Remember two single apostrophe key strokes ''
@Patrick: TWO single quotes either side makes it italic; THREE single quotes makes it bold.
But shouldn't the formatting buttons in the edit window still work?
Yes, the formatting buttons still work.  In this particular instance there was an accidental format applied that made the text after the first become bold instead of italics.   It just needed to have one of the formats removed so that the  in order for the italics to appear correctly.

My "answer" is a question: In the Enhanced Editor in Chrome for MacOS Sonoma 14.0, I tested to see if it is listening for Command + I for italics.
I see the editor briefly italicizing the text and then flipping it back to normal. Is that a WikiTree editor? If so, why doesn't it stick?

The enhanced editor uses a customized version of the CodeMirror editor. I don't think we purposefully programmed it to do anything with keyboard shortcuts.
