I am having a very hard time with this family

Question

I started working on this family and I am getting a lot of records confused I think.

I need some help ironing out if what I am attaching is actually correct.

The name goes from Chula Davis to Lula Chavis. Birthdates are scattered all over too.

The lack of the 1890 Census may be key. 

One of the confusing records that are linked is the death of a woman named Mrs. Essie Gortman Crim. It states she has a sister named Mary Ellen Hoover.

If she was listed in 1880 census as an infant, her age (20) in the 1900 census is consistent. The ages in the latter census are clearly wrong. I would note these ages, but with the annotation that they are wrong, you write it something like “stated age in 1910 is 27 (sic should be 30 yrs based on the 1880 and 1900 censuses).”

This seems to be a typical case of erroneous ages in the census.
