Looking for any information on Thomas Reynolds and his wife Mary Ann, who had a son William, born in Worksop UK in 1815.

Does anyone have them on their family tree ?

Hope some one can help.  Thanks.

How sure are you about his mother's maiden name? I had a quick look at Ancestry trees, and there was one with those two names, but the marriage record was for a William, not Thomas.
Many thanks.  Yes, certain (as I can be) !   My William Reynolds was married to Emily, and the 1841 census has Mary Ann 'mother' living with them in London.  Also William's birth/baptism records on 1815 state father Thomas, mother Mary Ann.

Thanks for your interest.
But how do you know she was a Gardiner if there's no marriage record? Mary Ann is certain. I'm finding a few Mary Ann's married to Thomas Reynolds, but no Gardiners.
Ah - you have a point.  The census says that she was born in Great Bromley, and Mary Ann Gardiner was the only one (on Ancestry) I could find born around 1782/3 that fitted  ....... and that's where I think I've gone wrong, and 'veered off course' finding myself in someone else's Family Tree !
There's a Mary Ann Gardener who married a Thomas Reynolds in Somerset in 1806, which is unlikely for your Mary Ann, and she was also born there in 1791, and appears to have stayed there.
Very possibly! We've all been there! Another thing to consider is whether it was a first or second marriage, so it's not an easy task!
Also, dates can be quite a bit more than that out on the census - I would go for +/- 5 years, and so can locations, she might have been born nearby but Great Bromley was easier than saying a small village that nobody's heard of.
Gill - all brilliant advice - many thanks.  I'll try the date & location changes as you suggest.

Best regards - A

The only information I discovered is the Christening Record of William Reynolds. It can be found in the "England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975" database on FamilySearch. The specific record for William Reynolds from 1854 can be accessed at the following link: [https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N5TY-K8L] (last accessed on February 4, 2023).

The Reynolds family I have researched only briefly had a Thomas William Reynolds married to Marion Hunter in 1810, probably in southern England. Marion is often written Mary Ann or Marianne in this family. They moved around the country and then to Portugal, Spain and New Zealand, the last in 1850. The couple had many children and son William Hunter was born in Chatham in 1822. The dates look possible for you if not the locations, but this family moved about. Good luck anyway.
