GedCompare #223255 needs help!

Question

I'm new to this GedCompare, the first person on my list is an unknown Orsborne and I'm not sure what this means? What can I do with their ID number? When I compare Gedcom to Wiki Tree the person in Wiki Tree may not even exist, not even sure if it's a real person. This unknown Orsborne is suppose to have been born in my home town, which is even more confusing, I just don't know what to do with any of this info!!    Thanks for any help!

Hi Sandy,

The data (table of names and dates) in the GEDCOMpare report comes directly from your GEDCOM file that was uploaded. So "Unknown Osborne" is listed as an entry/person in whichever system you downloaded the GEDCOM from originally.

It is possible that is was created as a placeholder for a relationship and not something you created yourself. The best advice I can give you is - do not match or add that profile.

GEDCOMpare can be confusing the first time you start interacting with it, so I took a look over your report and it appears that you have a couple errors in the matches so far.

For example, on row #7 you have a man named John, born in Kentucky, matched to a WikiTree profile of a man named Thomas, born in Cardiff, Wales. The spouse and children do not match. This match should be removed.

There are similar error in rows #17 - the person from your GEDCOM is matched to an incorrect WikiTree profile (they both represent different people).
