New England help: Lincoln & Woodward (pre-1700)

Question

Another member asked me to help sort out these families, but New England genealogy is outside my areas of expertise. 

Unsourced profile Unknown Lincoln (Samuel Lincoln?) (born about 1660) currently has a spouse attached Elizabeth Woodward, (daughter of Israel Woodward), and son Samuel Lincoln. However, this is potentially the incorrect Elizabeth Woodward. Samuel & Elizabeth supposedly had several children together, meanwhile this Elizabeth was married to Robert Taft.

The FamilySearch tree has this Unknown Lincoln as Samuel Lincoln (1664-1738), married to Elizabeth Woodward, daughter of Nathaniel Woodward (Woodward-908?). I only came across a couple of sources to support these relationships:

• The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Volume 51 (page 173) lists Nathaniel Woodward (son of Nathaniel, son of Nathaniel) and his daughter Elizabeth; wife of Samuel Lincoln. The "living in 1722" seems to imply that Nathaniel would have had a will dated 1722 naming his daughter Elizabeth.
• Elizabeth Woodward's birth in 1667, daughter of Nathaniell Woodward and Eliza.

If someone more familiar with early New England sources could take a look at these families, it would be much appreciated!

It does appear that the wrong Elizabeth Woodward is  attached to "Unknown" Lincoln, you are right. Elizabeth Woodward, daughter of Israel Woodward married Robert Taft, it appears. I have not found anything showing she married anyne named Lincoln (yet). I suspect you are right that "Unknown" should be Samuel, but before his name is changed I'd like to find vital record-type sources.

It looks as if Elizabeth Woodward, daughter of Nathaniel does not have a profile yet; I will create it.
