My 2nd great grand father was Andrew Jackson Davis {12-17-1857 to 02-17-1933} i know he died in Panola county Texas and is buried in a local cemetery here. I think he was born in Arkansas. He had a brother William Evans Davis (Bud) {12-11-1855 - 01-9-1941} i have him born in Arkansas also and died in Upshur county Texas where he is buried. Andrew had a son named william joe davis that was my great grand father. I see through census records some of the bothers kids were born in arkansas then oklahoma then finally texas. I feel I have found evidence via census that  whithin the first 2 years of their life they lived with the evans norris family. no mention of the two brothers parents have been found. if anyone could guide me to find this i would be very greatful. I included a link to my ancestry.com page on andrew.

FamilySearch suggests the parents of Andrew Jackson Davis are George Lucas Davis (1813–1883) and Mary Ann Davey (1817–1859)

See: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LDMZ-1VQ

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/131179667

Update: Continue reading this discussion. His parents are not George and Mary.

it does but im not sure its correct. my grandfather always was told they were the only two kids. also why would they give up only 2 of their children? on find a grave no mention of william evans davis is mentioned as a child of him. and the andrew jackson davis mentioned is buried in oklahoma

There are 2 Andrew Jackson Davis attached as sons on Luke David.  This one may be the one you want.  They other may be an error. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/131179667/andrew-jackson-davis

Elsewhere I posted a link to the Wikitree page for your ancestor.  It also has Luke as his father.
i have thoroughly investagated the lead before on george lucus davis but his son of andrew jackson is a different person than i am kin to. thank you though for trying.
What child of Andrew Jackson Davis do you descend from?
william joe davis

William Davis has a FamilySearch profile as well, but he is associated to different parents. However, I do not see a source to support that association.

The Andrew Jackson Davis buried in Wileys Cove, Searcy County, Arkansas was married to Rosie Waymack and is not the same person as your person. His Find-a-Grave memorial is using the same DOD as another Andrew Jackson (GK6D-NJN).

There seems to be conflation happening between these people.

i agree there is much confusion reguarding these folk :) but i am certain they are brothers i have census records with them later on in upshur county in texas. i have first hand account from my grandfather who remembers his father talking about the pair.
it seems the pair were living with the norris family in 1870. the census taker mistook their last names as norris but i feel it is them. the ages check out and i find them in the 1860 one as well with this family.

In this case, the Andrew Davis buried in Wileys Cove is the most likely candidate as the son of George and Mary Ann.

It seems that George and Ann should be removed as parents from your Andrew Davis Wikitree profile and Find-a-Grave.

I updated Andrew's Wikitree profile and sent a request to correct Find-a-Grave.

This may not help, but in 1920 Upshur, Texas, census there are a William E Davis and Andrew J Davis living next to each other,  William E is 67, so DOB around 1853 and Andrew J 65 so DOB 1855.  In 1920 the Andrew J is listed as Divorced and has 3 sons living with him. George W 21, Howard,19 and Marvin15.
