I started out answering the question "Question of the Week: What's on your genealogical bucket list?" but it became a big post, so.. let me introduce myself:
Since I have lost my parents at a relatively young age my wish to 'catch history' and record the memory and knowledge of those whom have gone before us has become more and more important to me.
I think I need to live to become at least a hundred to check all the boxes for my bucket list.. but I'll share a selection:
[ ] get to a MVP for my GeoArchive project So I can:
[ ] integrate the thousands scanned negatives of my fathers photo's (1969 - 2005)
[ ] integrate the many thousands of photo's I took (2000 - now)
[ ] share that work and find fellow 'village historians' and do the same for my village
To get to my MVP (Minimal Viable Product) I have spend the first 5 years of the project finding out what I could think of that would add to the experience. Maybe you think: 5 years!? well.. I have a rich imagination. Ranging from a virtual experience, to managing millions images, building the ultimate collaboration community and software for the ultimate genealogy archive and be able to collaborate, share all that.. it takes a while to get a feel for that ;)
I have spent the last few years building and perfecting the management of the genealogy part. I am now at a point where I need to "move on" to the next part:image integration and collaboration and get (back) to the front end: making all that available!
I know.. big dreams.. but I am working on making them become a reality.. when I have more to share (hopefully to actually show) I'll let you all know ;)
PS: GeoArchive?
Ge : genealogy (you know :P)
Geo: Geography (locations)
Archive: as in "over time" and store it, organize it, not just people, images, locations, also their relations
Archiving and presenting a huge entanglement of relations , images, locations, videos of.. well almost everything and anything..
