How does one get a "Big Heart" badge?

I have adopted about 40 orphaned profiles that I've found for members of my extended family and have not received the "Big Heart" badge.  I've read lots of questions/comments about this but haven't found any real answer.  I've adopted them from THE LIST and also directly from profiles I happen across.

Is there a quick list of those profiles somewhere?  I copied them to another file from my contributions list.

Seems something is wrong if this is an automatic award.

You need to adopt from the list.https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Adoptions
I don't know what the Big Heart badge is for sure, but I say do the right thing, even when no one is watching, and let the chips fall where they may. Accolades are sweetest when you are baffled why you were recognized for just being you! Keep up the good work
Of the about 40 that I've adopted, I think at least half were done that way.

As for doing it "just because," I like to get things straight so that other people get their "just desserts" as well.  If there's a problem & others aren't getting their badges, shouldn't it be fixed?

[edit]  After posting that, I went thru one line of ancestors with a somewhat unusual name (Gummel) to see if any were orphaned.  I found 2 that I adopted as a "group" & sure enough the "Big Heart" badge showed up.  I don't think I did anything different than I had done before for some of them.  If there's a "secret" to this, it still baffles me.

Hi Suellen. I tried this just now and believe I can confirm what the answer is.

I did not previously have the Big Heart badge. I went to Orphaned Profiles from the Find menu. I chose a single profile there (one I had already been working on, selected by surname), and adopted it by clicking its radio button then the ADOPT button. I immediately received the Big Heart badge.

I can see you now indeed also have the badge, so I suspect you did do something different this time. Perhaps selecting by surname is important.
