Johannes Hess still has not been fixed

There is a problem with the daughters of Johan Hess. Daughter Anna Catherine Hess Mensch was born March 1750. Daughter Anna Catherine Hess Fosselman was born May 1750. Daughters can't be born two months apart and unless one died, I doubt they would give them the same name. One of the girls does not belong. The bio lists the Mensch daughter as a child so I would guess the Fosselman one is not in this family. Anyone have any ideas?

This problem still has not been fixed.

This birth registration confirms Anna Catharina Hess Fosselman who was born on May 7, 1750 is the daughter of Johannes Hess and Anna Sabina Leibensberger

Thank you Lorraine.

That still leaves the mystery of the other daughter. Family search shows them both in Johannes Hess family but unless dates and names are wrong, it is still impossible. Find a grave doesn't show the parents.

The error is in entering the two weddings. She was once married to Philip Peter Fosselmann (1764), and later married Johann Abraham Mensch (1774). She was then registered as her own sister, and that still with two different birthdays.

Since Philip Peter Fosselman is listed with death in 1820, this makes it unlikely she remarried to Mensch in 1774. More investigation clearly needed.
I totally agree with you! In "Father of ..." there are 5 children and Anna Catharina is double. In the biography there are 7 children listed and none twice!?

I have now spent several hours looking at the profile of Johann Hess and his children, especially the alleged twins 2 months apart with the same first names. This error was taken uncritically from a FamilySearch family tree. It can be assumed that Anna Catharine Hess, married Mensch has different parents than Anna Catharina (Cath) Hess, married Fos(s)elman. Unfortunately, one cannot see the original birth certificate of Cath.

It is almost certain that Anna Catherine Hess (Mensch) is not the daughter of Johann and Anna Sabina. Delete is certainly wrong, since she do exist, but the connection would have to be separated. Who is responsible for this?

Post your research as a comment on the profile, the Palatine Migration Project should pick that up as they manage it and make appropriate changes or add to the research notes on the profile
