Can I change the parents in a profile if I become the profile manager?

Martin Synder is my ancestor. His profile has no manager and the parents listed are not correct. There are several sources listed that actually mention the correct names of the parents. If I become the profile manager can I correct the names.

Yes, you can make those changes.

Did you know that there are 143 matches when you search for "Martin Snyder"? So, just as a precaution, be absolutely sure you have the right one who is your ancestor--that the sources match the person's data.

I looked and you are correct that the parents in the provided sources are not the ones he is attached to. If you adopt then you can detach the parents he is attached to and create profiles for the correct parents if they are not already here on Wikitree.

You can update the profile, just include sources, and since the mistake has occurred, you probably should have research notes to explain the change. You don't have to become the profile manager to make the changes, but if you want to adopt the profile, that would be great.

Please make a note of the parents being detached and create a ==Research Note== and add them there and explain why they were detached. Then add the correct parents.
