What is causing a gedcompare error?

Here is the error message:

GEDCOMpare Report: There was an error processing your upload.

The upload appears to work fine.  I can view the gedcom file and it looks right.

The GEDCOM may look fine to a human, but something went wrong when the WikiTree software tried to convert it into a GEDCOMpare file. Send a note to the WikiTree Team (info at wikitree.com) to get technical help with the file.
