Listing of Private sons & daughters that I can't remove on my dad's profile.

Question

On my dad's profile that list his children it says 2 private sons & 2 daughters and there is nothing there to click on when I try to remove them. Can you tell me what needs to be done to get them off?

There is an active profile manager on your father's profile. Do you know him or know who he is? Maybe he is a relative? Regardless, you will need to contact him, explain your relationship to your father and ask to be added to the Trusted List or added as another profile manager. Explain that you want to remove the private children and work on his profile.

If you do not receive a reply in a reasonable period of time - a couple of weeks, then file "unresponsive profile manager" form.

You should also ask to be added to the trusted list or as profile manager to the private children's profiles in order to be able to see them.  If they are your siblings, then you wouldn't want to remove them.  Come to think of it, one of them may be a duplicate profile for you, in which case you'll need to write to info @ wikitree.com (without the spaces) to have them merge it with yours.

Hi Virginia, I am one of the profile managers on my dad, but I can't remove the private names on the edit as there is nothing to click for removal. I have no way of knowing their profile numbers to even send in to get them removed.

Linda, I do not see you listed as a profile manager or on the Trusted List for your father. I only see Donald Baird as profile manager. Have you tried contacting him? You cannot remove anyone who is listed as "private" if you are not the pm. In fact, you might find that they should not be removed but maybe merged if you have also created a profile for one or ore of them. First see if you can make contact with the profile manager and then work from there.

A question James. Is it when you are in the edit page that you are seeing 2 private sons & 2 private daughters? If it is the reasoning behind that is of privacy. One of those sons would be you and one of the daughters is your sister Linda. As you are not yet on the trusted list for your father Floyd or your mother Ruth it won't show the names of their children.

Darren I have tried numerous times to be added to my father's trusted list but WiKi Tree emails keeps coming back saying this tree isn't for you. So how am I do fix this?

There are two ways to be added to the trusted list for a profile. On a profiles privacy page there is a link that says Click here to request to join the Trusted List. That should send a request through to the Profile Manager or Managers and they should be able to add you.

The second way is for the profile manager to use the Add to Trusted List options which could be adding your email or if you are on the other wikitreers watchlist they can just click a button. 

Looking at the profile managers profile who is listed as Floyd Williams manager it appears that you Linda should have access as it is you husband. If that is the case then ensure that his profile is signed in and try to add Linda and James to the trusted list or profile manager list(Have to be on trusted list first) for your father.
