Changing last name to merge profiles

Question

Working on Davis family line.

Mary Amanda Davis (David) David-1474 should actually be Mary Amanda Shorter (Davis). And then merge with profile Davis 104959.  At that point I can add husband Charles Burrel Shorter   Shorter-237 and add references.

How can I fix the David name? Must I contact the profile manager?

Yes, only the PM can change the Last name at birth. If they do not respond, here are the guidelines to follow:

you can correct the lnab via the merge.

if PM does not respond to merge, in 30 days, you can merge the profiles

You should try to avoid an intermediate name change as that will create a new profile and Wiki-ID.  Just fix it in the merge, one step.
