How to search for people with double last names?

I been working on population of people in Denmark who used two surnames, example (Melchiorsdatter Stocklund) and I put both in 'birth name' spaced, assuming that I could find either one when searching on wikitree, but after adding a ton of sourced profiles I realized you have to put both of the surnames to find the profile.
And I cant find any way to search for either one, am thinking of just chaning them all to their uniqe surname, even if its not accurate so that people can find them easier.

sounds like the search engine could be improved.

It might be helpful to essentially give each profile three last names, two of them in the "OTHER LAST NAMES" field

Would it then come up when searching?

It appears to me that Melchiorsdatter is a patronymic name and Stocklund is a family surname. Thus, it may not be a single "last name." For people who had both a patronymic name and a family surname, the patronymics typically is recorded in a separate name field from the farm name or other family surname.

Double last names that appear in the LNAB or Current Last Name data fields are concatenated for search purposes. This is very helpful for names like "De Groot," but not so good if the name is something like "Melchiorsdatter Stocklund", which is treated for search purposes as "MelchiorsdatterStocklund".

It would work best to search separately for the individual names Melchiorsdatter and Stocklund.

[EDITED to remove errors in my comments on how to enter data in the name fields.]

What is the best way to do that?
It would be however nice if you could search for each surname as individual surnames, because it would just make things easier, like add a " option or something

Are you familiar with WikiTree name search? Enter a first name and a last name in the boxes at the top of any profile page, and run a search. You will get a list of names that match those names -- or match similar names.

The profiles you created with the name Melchiorsdatter Stocklund will show up only if you search for the last name pf MelchiorsdatterStocklund. Put an asterisk (*) in the first name field of the search box (the asterisk is a "wild card" for searches) and put MelchiorsdatterStocklund in last name field. The search results will list 15 profiles that you created.

The Name Field Guidelines for WikiTree's Nordic Project, which includes Denmark, advise that a person's patronymic name usually should be placed by itself in the Last Name at Birth data field and their most recent farm name or their married name should go in the Current Last Name field. Additional last names (such as a farm name for a woman who assumed her husband's farm name after marriage) go in Other Last Names. There are many more details -- cilck on the link to read the Name Field Guidelines.

Using the standard WikiTree search form (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:SearchPerson), if you only enter something in the "Last Name" box then you get the pre-generated list of all profiles with that precise last name. However if you enter something in one of the other boxes too then it actually searches the database for profiles that match the search terms. So to find the profiles you created, try entering * in the "First Name" box and Melchiorsdatter* in the "Last Name" box, or alternatively enter * in the "First Name" box and *Stocklund in the "Last Name" box.

Another issue with this:
Try to create a profile with First name: Melchior,  LNAB: Stocklund, Birth date 1766

The list: "compare close matches that already exist on WikiTree"

is empty

Despite that Melchior "Melchiorsen Stocklund" exists
