Riley, Cantrell, Moreno and Espinosa are my direct grandparents.

6 months ago, I had no idea of how many historical people I was connected to. 6 months in, I am not surprised as much now when another pops up. It's alot like fishing, each cast/profile can result in a fish of a lifetime.
Connected doesn't mean a family affiliation. It's just mean that some people, who married some people may  have a relation to them
Beside, the people  who are in power, they are a quite a small pool of people and they tend to marry their sons and daughters with people of their status.
So I guess, it makes sense
6 Months ago, I had no idea who my 5th gr grandpa was. Nor did I know his son-in-law signed the Declaration of Independence. George Washington 2nd cousin. Family connection to 34 Presidents (not including Jeff Davis, cousin) although some quite distant. Governors, Senators, Rev War notables and a few outlaws of history, are grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Nepotism is alive and well, and has been forever. Going against the Wikitree goal, I am happy to report my wife and I have no common ancestor connection as of yet.

You would need to enter more family members to find out. It is definitely possible. I have connections to 14 US Presidents and relations to 31 US Presidents, so it seems very possible. But without clear family information, we can only speculate.

Hi Loni, right now you’re not connected to the “big tree” because you haven’t added any ancestors on WikiTree yet. If you are able to build out your tree and find an existing connected profile here on WikiTree you will then be “connected” to the tree. Assuming that all 27 presidents are also connected to the big tree, you will of course be connected to them too (it will not necessarily be a blood relationship, since connections include marriage connections).

You have a family member account right now, so if you want to build out your tree here on WikiTree you just need to sign the honor code and become a full member (it’s free). See: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Membership

The more names you add the more connections you will find. It worked for me. surprise

Yes, that could be true. Connections don't mean that you are blood-related, but related by marriage.

Very Possible, but as others have said, you need to build up your tree so that it connects to our global tree.

According to WikiTree, I am related to 32 US Presidents, while being connected to an additional 13. No direct descendants as far as I can tell, but all of it changes as folks add or make changes to their trees and profiles.

Once you have built out your tree, you can watch this grow as you add more and more individuals... Featured Connections

It's possible you are related to fewer than 27 presidents. Humans are prone to emotions and errors. I know of one instance where the haplogroup in England is different from the haplogroup in the USA when the family supposedly emigrated from one place to the other, but the bogus pedigree is still up at WikiTree. Different haplogroup different ancestry.. While we're on this topic, let me continue in this vein by saying not all lineages that would connect to notables of one sort or another are equal, not in terms of validity anyway. Some paper trails are difficult to get rid of (and they may be very ancient indeed) even if  disproven by the DNA evidence.
