I am trying to confirm that Zebedee Mayhew is a son of Nathan Mayhew

I have DNA matches and am confused as to how to confirm. I can not locate a birth record anywhere for Zebedee Mayhew (b.1778-1782 d. 1834). I have been trying to confirm that he is a son of Nathan Mayhew and Susannah Athearn for years. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have numerous DNA matches to Nathan Mayhew and Susannah Athearn, but I can not locate any document that sources Zebedee's birth. I have it a brick wall!

The only source I could find for his birth was FAG (1782) which is still uncertain but earlier than what you have on Wikitree. Because there is an image of a headstone it is best you have (as yet) to support his estimated birth date

Banks in vol. 3 of his History of Martha’s Vineyard

lists children of Nathan Mathew on page 320. He gives exact birthdates, so they were recorded somewhere. None is named Zebedee. But it looks like you could squeeze another kid in around 1776.

Thank you Barry. That is a good point. I have made attempts to contact the Martha's Vineyard Historical Society to help with this puzzle. I'm guessing that DNA does not lie and somehow I will find my answers one day!
