James Morris Mcillwain

    Currently, I've been hung up on one ancestor. I'm having an extremely difficult time finding the father of James Morris Mcillwain (1868-1935). There are several leads, but nothing secure enough for me to link. If you have any information, please pass it along! I am very grateful for your time!

The death cert for Morris shows his father as Jim McIllwain and mother as Ms. Spence.  After further searching I think the father was James Alexander McIllwain and the mother was Susan Elizabeth Spence.

James Alexander McIllwain born Dec 1848 Tennessee, death unknown).  Susan Elizabeth Spence born Jan 1852 Decatur Tenn, death 24 Sep 1926 Decatur Tenn.  I concur with Roger Stong and the 1880 census although the last name is spelled wrong.
