Merging 3 into 1

Question

I asked for help with this many months ago, but I didn't get any resolution so I'm asking again.

Haskins-506 (managed by Biggs-1436 who has been inactive for a year or more--I think he is deceased)

Haskins-2135 (I manage)

Haskins-2091 (I manage)

Are all the same person. Please help me merge or delete them! The oldest is the least complete.

Profiles always get merged into the lowest number.  The person doing the merge can indicate which data elements and text to retain.  When there are multiple duplicates they should be merged one by one directly into the lowest numbered profile  to reduce the number of redirects.

I did the unresponsive manager form three months in a row for this individual. Each time 1-2 profiles got unlocked, but there are still 100 or so profiles of our long dead ancestor that he has private. I guess I'll have to do a form for each person I need unblocked. That will take months...

You don't need to do a form for each profile.  Do one for one profile, and make sure you ask for it *and its ancestors* to be orphaned.

You can't do it from this specific one, because the Privacy level is too high (yellow).

I went to
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Haskins-2135 instead.  The Unresponsive Profile Manager request is on the Family Tree & Tools tab.  However, the person you would then be submitting would be yourself! and obviously you don't want to do that.

Are absolutely all of this PM's profiles yellow-locked for privacy?  Isn't there even one which is Open?  If not, you are going to have to write to info @ wikitree.com and explain that you can't submit an Unresponsive Profile Manager form because all his profiles are yellow privacy or higher.  They are the only people who can help with this situation.

Yes. All of his are yellow. This has been vexing me for MONTHS! I have his blocked profiles (which encompasses most of my paternal tree) stopping me from progressing on that half of my tree.

On my maternal side I have a huge brick wall that I haven't been able to make any progress with. So, on this platform my hands are tied.

The last two times I submitted an unresponsive profile manager request for the PM, they (whoever THEY are) opened a few profiles. I asked for ancestors and descendants of the person I wanted opened; which they did. However, they didn't open ANY lateral profiles (i.e. his siblings, aunts/uncles, etc.). I submitted another request for another person and requested ALL profiles be opened. They (whoever THEY are) opened a few more linear profiles.

This is the 3rd or 4th time of me requesting profiles be opened. Again I asked for ALL ancestors to be opened and I included a list of about 7-8 profiles that I'd like to work on--both linear and lateral.

Fingers crossed, but frankly I'm not hopeful. I'm afraid I'm going to die of old age before Wikitree allows me to finish my tree.

Rebecca, please see my answer to your other question about Mr. Biggs.  This merge problem is also related to the privacy level of the profile he manages.  Default approval is never given for merges involving private profiles.  I'm fairly sure that when you write to info @ wikitree.com (without the spaces) they will take care of everything for you.  I'm so sorry that this is happening to frustrate you and hope it gets completely resolved very quickly.

Thank you. I reached out to the email you provided.  He has over 1000 profiles that need to be unlocked. Many of them are my ancestors!

Well, well, well. I have to eat a lot of crow here.

After reaching out to the PM in question via every avenue I could find since I first joined this past summer (2022); after filling out many non-responsive PM requests over the last several months (and getting a few profiles opened each time); the PM in question unblocked two profiles.

He's alive! I truly thought he was deceased because I all could find find were crickets and dust bunnies. I'm happy he's alive and hopefully well! Now I'm ready for him to either collaborate or pass along those profiles.
