I am a third-generation very amateur genealogist. My role so far has been to be a listener. My grandparents and my parents were family storytellers. My life has been so busy with school, graduate school, being a single parent, and now, being a caretaker, that I rarely got to travel on family history trips like my parents and my son. I have worked on the computer side of my family and a few other families. My last spurt of energy along genealogy lines was probably more than 20 years ago. My parents, my 9-year-old son, and I took a three-week driving trip through Great Britain. I have driven within New York State and Maine to local family history spots. That's the extent of my genealogical travel. My parents and my son used to drive all around the United States and Nova Scotia every summer. My son got so much out of those trips--research techniques, written resource scanning, etc.
I'm working on all the surnames in the tags associated with this message.
