I found a regimental birth for Annie Cox, Sheerness Kent, United Kingdom. Father William Cox born 1862/66 Ireland married to Mary Todd, lived in Kent. Married in 1884 in Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom. William Cox put his regimental as Gunner, Royal Artillery, 3-1st Lancashire Division. Unfortunately, William Cox did not put his regiment no on the certificate or on the census in Kent.
I found on the Regimental Births two Annie Cox born in 1891, Sheerness Kent.
First record - R.A Volume No. 1423 page 194
On Findmypast - only information is the same Regimental Births, but with Archive No. Reg 1 and GRO Regimental Birth Indices (1761 to 1924)
Second Record - R.A Volume No. 1428 page 205
On Findmypast - only information is the same Regimental Births, but with Archive No. Reg 1 and GRO Regimental Birth Indices (1761 to 1924)
I have GRO birth certificate of Annie Cox
COX - ANNIE - MOTHERS NAME TODD
GRO REF 02A PAGE 910 J QUARTER
1891 - STEPPEY
Not sure why there are two, one for GRO and one for regimental. Where can I find the regimental birth, as I am trying to find William Cox, regiment number?
I have searched endless on National Archive for the 3-1st Lancashire? Army website etc. Still no army record and might be thinking it will be on his daughters birth Certificate?
If anyone knows, much appreciate the help.
Thanks
Rhondda
