He Is my paternal G.G.Grandfather, married Ann Hean Birrell 27 Feb 1878 probably somewhere around Newcastle NSW .   I'm interested in the French connection, family tradition tells that some ancestors fled to England during the French Revolution and from there to Canada.  It is possible that Maurice Perrau came to Australia after some years in New Zealand en route.

Do you have any information as to parents names? Do you know where in Quebec Maurice was born, county and or city? Would you have the church of his baptism? Did his parents come over from England or would it be an earlier generation who came across the Atlantic?
