Adding Parent/spouse bug

When I import a spouse to someone who has a child who already has both parents listed, I'm fairly consistently getting the wrong details in the little reminder/hint thing.

"Note that David has a child.  You may want to check if the person being added above is their parent.

Celia Marsh (marsh-9608) [has father]

blah blah

{Add spouse button}

Obviously I have a father!  what it means to say is that I already have a mother, as I'm adding my stepmother to it.  This isn't the only time I've seen it, just the only time I thought to report it.

I think the terminology is correct, it can just be confusing.

You are entering details from David's (the fathers) profile, so that is why it shows "David has a child" and that you "have a father".

But she is adding a possible MOTHER.

Yes, a possible Mother - or like the system sees - a SPOUSE to a profile that already has children. We have to make the determination of whether or not they are the mother.

Which is why the message "has a father" is a bug.  It should say "has a mother".  It is clear there is already a father, and only one of him.

If you add a new spouse to a male who already has a spouse and children, the note against each of the children says "has father".

If you add a new spouse to a female who already has a spouse and children, the note against each of the children again says "has father".

They can't both be logical, one of them should surely say "has mother".

Yep - I stand corrected on that! Been a while since adding additional spouses blush

Yeah, if there's no other spouse you're adding, the option will give you something like this:

Note that Thomas has 2 children. You may want to check if the person being added above is their parent.  Thomas Blackwood (Blackwood-1134) Check this box if Thomas is a child of the spouse being added above [no current mother]
Donald Blackwood (Blackwood-1379) Check this box if Donald is a child of the spouse being added above [no current mother]

I am adding the mom, so this is the correct language.  I don't see this error anywhere else, just a new spouse when the kids already have parents.

This bug appears to be still there.

I'm adding a second wife to a man with a first wife and five children, all correctly attributed to the first wife.

By coincidence, both wives are Catherine, and I have set a rejected match between them.

But then I see this:

If Maria O'Rourke is a child of Catherine, you will need to replace Maria's current father separately.
If Winifred Mary O'Rourke is a child of Catherine, you will need to replace Winifred's current father separately.
If Patrick Rourke is a child of Catherine, you will need to replace Patrick's current father separately.
If Thomas O'Rourke is a child of Catherine, you will need to replace Thomas's current father separately.
If John (O'Rourke) Rourke is a child of Catherine, you will need to replace John's current father separately

Clearly it is the MOTHER, not the father, that might have to be replaced if the child was from the second marriage of the father.

Is it even necessary to prompt for a check of the mother?
