I would like to proposed a new LDS category.

I was sourcing Utah Unknowns when I stumbled across this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voyage_of_the_Brooklyn_Saints

and this:

https://californiapioneer.com/historic-events/ship-brooklyn/

A group of 238 Saints sailed from New York, around the Cape to Yerba Buena (Now San Francisco) in 1846.

Way late, but I made a category for this (it may have to be renamed later). https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Brooklyn_Saints
Jamie, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Ships_by_Name gives you lots of examples on this, so I believe this category should be renamed, otherwise to my eye it appears to relate to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Are:_The_Brooklyn_Saints
Jamie, Danielle, because the ship Brooklyn is specifically LDS, its category should be in the LDS Project.

If the ship Brooklyn is in the American Immigration category, its identify is lost among the 2,611 named ships.

Although we do have the "Saints by Sea" category, the name "ship Brooklyn Saints" is confusing, we may need to make it clear that Saints = LDS.

It may be useful to
I guess it could be under both a specific voyage of the ship Brooklyn, and under the LDS Project so it doesn't get lost.

Maybe

"Category: Brooklyn (1834), Arrived 31 Jul 1846"; under both "Category: Brooklyn (1834)" and "Category: LDS Project"?
I like it, it's the solution to a vexing problem.
Ok, hopefully it's correct now! https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Brooklyn_%281834%29%2C_Arrived_31_Jul_1846

This would probably be a good group project for the LDS Project to work on.

that works perfectly. laugh

I said "Although we do have the "Saints by Sea" category ...", but is it true?  Saints by Sea is a website, but not an LDS Project - right?

Right, I don't think we have a category for that yet. I did think it could be a possible Project Team (back when the site was Mormon Migration), but I don't think I actually created any categories. If you are interested in working on it though, I could create a category and add ship voyages the same way this one was made.
Jamie, I think Saint by Sea needs a category because it is a huge part of LDS migration.

As one of the LDS Project leaders, I have no objection to the creation of this category (it's even been suggested as the subject of a possible project team).

I'm not sure about the best way to categorize it though -- maybe someone from the categorization project can chime in.

I guess this subject didn't galvanize the LDS or Categorization community.  What next?
