Why are my images removed?

I've sourced a lot of profiles with digital scans, because there is no easy acces to the documents. Some of these images are removed and this does not show up in the change log. What is going on?

The changes log does actually have an entry for it on 16 May 2022:  "02:51: Rob Arzoni uploaded [deleted] for Antonius Arzoni (1712-1767)."  It also shows that you removed it as the primary photo for the profile.  If the image page also had all profiles removed from it so that nothing was left under "People & Things in the Image:", then the system will automatically delete the file after a period of time.  Could that be what happened?

I believe the timeframe is one month. When you upload a document image to a profile, you can uncheck the little box for Use a primary photo, but still leave it attached to the profile. It will remain in the right side of the profile though.

If you like, you can upload the digital images to a free space and link from there. You could maybe do a general page about a surname and link corresponding documents. Maybe a family you are researching emigrated to say Massachusetts, but then later generations migrated west. You could write a little interesting short history to be the purpose of the space page, then upload your documents.
Thank you Kerry and Lucy. May 16th I added to images and removed it as the primary photo. I then added the images into the bio: {{Image|file=Arzoni-16.jpg |align=r |size=m |caption=Birth Antonius 1712 }}. That's it. Did I do anything wrong here?
Did you, when removing it as Primary image, also click the "REMOVE from image" option?  Or click that thinking it was to remove as Primary?
Hi Melanie, Thank you for your responce.

I clicked 'remove as primary' and don't remember if I clicked 'remove from image'. This wouldn't be logical since the person is in the image (source). Do you think clicking  'remove form image' would delete it from the profile? Anyway, I'm testing this now.
