I wanted to share this family photo of James Ogan with the community. Location: Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, California, United States. Date: about fall or winter of 1898-99, a gathering of at least 27 relatives of James S and Elizabeth H Ogan was convened in Carpinteria, California, in their honor. James was 85 years old and Elizabeth was 82. Other photographs of their extended family were taken as well some more formal pictures.

Simeral Ogan passed away Feb 1900 within a year or so of this photo at age 85. His wife Betsy Harris Ogan passed away in 1906, age 92. We still own a 140 year old house on this property, built by Simeral and his son John H Ogan for my grandparents, James W  and Ada Spooner Ogan when they married in 1879.
