I'd like to get an overall picture of where my relatives were living within a state.  Is that possible?

On the menu, go to Find --> Apps and choose the Ancestor Explorer. Enter your profile, the number of generations you want and what kind of ancestors.

Click Generate List.

Once it is done, click Map List.

Thanks for the tip.  This site looks promising for lots of purposes, in addition to genealogy.

There's maps available on the Family tree tab.
