How do i delete people in my tree

Question

I clicked on what I thought was a right match. Father's and what not are not correct after that . Aside from deleting my account how can I start over with my paternal line?

Thanks for asking, this is a common question.

Take some time to review Editing Family Relationships.

Basically, you go to the edit page and on the right side you will see a link to remove or replace a family member.  Click on that go to the bottom of the next page and click on remove.

Now, if you created a profile, WikiTree does not delete profiles.  You can still edit and remove a newly created profile.

You can't delete profiles. You can merge duplicates. If you incorrectly linked a person to the profile you can remove the link. Edit the profile and on the right side select who you want to "remove".

It seems exceptionally unlikely that Edmund B. Brady, b. 1840, is the father of Laura (born after 1900); there is no Laura in the household of Edmund B. Brady in 1910 or 1920. Laura's parents are not given on her marriage certificate (she was 17, which means she was born in 1910).

I sadly did my accessory tree pretty far out on Brady. Started to put it on here and accepted awhat i thought was a correct match to find no dna matches to what should have been since Laura was my grandmother.  So I deleted my ancestory tree. And what happened is Laura's dad is Edmond  Brady but his mother is Sarah Brady  daughter of John Brady II . Edmond father is unknown . Sarah married Harvey Sawyer and Edmond is listed on census as step son. All sources confirm Other issue is Edmond is a passed down name  from many generations and people are not listing matches correctly. I've spent years on the Brady that goes to O'Grady and not enough people doing proper research on middle names and birth dates. I think I'll stick to just hand inputting info instead of ID # matching I find things too incorrect. I honestly don't mean that to come off rude. One has a middle name listed as Isaac when enough research with actual resources show his middle name is  simonton which was his mother's maiden name.and trying to upload all that just to get someone else to change their incorrect info is just too much work when working off a cell phone.
