New member introducing myself

Question

I have been researching my family tree since about 2006. I just visited where my mother's family came from in Quebec. I've hit roadblocks in my Irish roots (Cody, Sullivan, Hassey) and my husband's family (Herrin) as well.

Welcome to Wikitree!!  You may want to modify your post to change the category from "The Tree House"
 to "Genealogy help".   Or add the text in a new post under the Genealogy Help category.  Include names, dates and locations of your ancestors you mentioned the roadblocks in your question.  Someone may be able to help.

K.: Welcome to WikiTree. Quebec experienced many waves of Irish immigration. Many Irish preferred to move to Quebec because the majority was Catholic instead of moving to Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, or Newfoundland where the majority was Protestant. That is why today there are a lot of Irish family names in Quebec. Perhaps, the local Catholic church in the area where your mother is from might have records as well. Anne
