There was an obituary published 21 Aug 1890 for NANEY SAMPLE, wife of Louis. Its not available online, but you can request it here: http://connect.wofford.edu/mywofford/library/archive/archiveobituary.aspx (you have to add the spelling above). Not sure if it will name her parents, but maybe...

This responds to both of your questions. The 1850 U.S. Census for South Carolina records a Nancy Ann Spearman (b. about 1810) living in Anderson County in the household of David and Nancy Spearman, presumably her parents.  This census also reports a Nancy Sample (b. about 1818) living with her husband Lewis in Edgefield County.  Your two questions suggest that you may have seen this.  I saw no evidence in the Census of a Nancy Ann (Spearman) Sample. If her husband had died before 1850, and she returned to live with her husband, the expectation is that she would have been listed in the Census as Nancy Ann Sample.  On a quick look at MyHeritage, I found no marriage for a Nancy Ann Spearman that worked.

I agree these two Nancy Spearman are cousins but Nancy Ann Sample someone added a note on Find A Grave saying her dad was Edmund Spearman

and I don’t believe Nancy Ann Spearman listed born 1810 living with David Samuel Spearman and Nancy Clardy Spearman in Anderson County is listed in David Samuel Spearman’s Will
