Proving Father

Question

I am trying to prove who was the father of my G Grandfather Darley-285.  Some information from a published book on my family assumes since he shares the same name as Hamilton-25173 that that is the father  but my Mother made a notation in the margin of that book that his father is Hamilton -28651  

How does one go about trying to see if any direct desendents of these have taken DNA test and how do i compare them?
