Am I to assume that James Williamson’s Y-DNA is actually directly linked to George Thompson Williamson

I am the James Williamson you are referring to (Williamson-5955). Although all the public trees show John and George Williamson as ancestors of Micajah, I have only been able to document my heritage back to Micajah. My family lore speaks of us being Scots-Irish and this link goes back to an English Williamson line. For me, it is still an open question.

No, Wikitree doesn’t store or match any actual DNA data, just who has taken a DNA test and who, according to the relationships here on Wikitree, is likely to be a DNA relative.
