I can't get answers. Posted this and wrote to profile manager. The only child of Alexander and Marion was Jean and she predeceased her father. It would have been possible for a son to be named William as that was Marion's father's name but she was only married to Alexander for 10 months and no time to get pregnant again. I am looking into everything possible but could use some help please. Many thanks

This is a mess. Marion Sterling on 30 July 1631 in Canongate, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.[2] Children of Alexander Colquhoun XVII and Marion Stirling i.John Cahoon, b. 1632, Tullichewan, Ssotland. ii.John Cowan, b. 1632, Tullichewan, Scotland, d. 1650. iii.John Cowan Colquhoun, b. 1632, Tullichewan, Scotland, d. 1650. iv.John Cahoon, b. 1632. v.Jean Cahoon, b. 1635. vi.William Cohoon, b. 1611, Dunbartonshir, Scotland, d. 1687. vii.William Cohoon, b. 1634, Taunton, Bristol, MA, USA, d. 22 Jun 1675, E Rehoboth, Brisrol, MA, USA. viii.William Cahoon, b. 1633, d. 1675. ix.John Cowan Cahoone, b. 1632, Tullichewan, Scotland, d. 1650. x.Jean Colquhoun, b. 1632. It is making my head swim, if I am honest. *If* Marion Stirling had Jean and John as twins in 1632, that would make sense but...it is near impossible for her to have gotten pregnant with William before Alexander died on 24 June 1632 because I have a birthdate for Jean of bef 18 Jun 1632. She and John had to have been twins. Now...think about this... Marion and Alexander would have had to get pregnant with William in that six day time slot between the 18th and 24th as everything points to him being born in 1633. This is impossible. Yes, some women become pregnant at their own folly mere weeks after a child is born but never mere days. Unless these birthdates are wrong, I hate to admit that William is not Alexander's son. I had high hopes this would all work out because down to my 3rd great-grandmother I once had twenty-two generations of Colquhoun bloodline but sadly, I see this coming to an end here. This must be set right though.
