Text search in bio

I would like to search for a specific source such as “TAG,” or “The American Genealogist” in my ancestry.

Is this something that WikiTree+ can do? If so, how would one write the query?

Since I do not expect to find a lot of results, a simple output like the WikiTree ID would be sufficient.

In advance … thanks for the help!

While I have not used the feature myself.

I believe the WikiTree+ and BioCheck apps can do this.  BioCheck uses WikiTree+ I believe.

Hm... I figured out how to search for text, but I do not see how to limit it to my direct ancestors.

How do you search for text, Michael? My understanding was that WT+ cannot search for words or phrases: see

https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1192607/how-to-use-wikitree-search-for-acknowledgments-plus-manager?show=1192844#a1192844

and Linda's answer to the same question.

If there is a URL associated with the source, WT+ could search for the domain in that (use Domain= and replace the dots by underscores).

PS To search for ancestors using WT+ try adding something like

Ancestors=Fulton-934

It's possible that privacy of profiles may interfere with this.
I used the Text Search box on the left.
I think it is only checking sources?
Or maybe does not check the bio?

Although it is called Text Search it does not search the whole text of the biography, but only the specific items listed at

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:WikiTree_Plus#Text_search_2

Yeah, I am seeing that now, too bad. Thanks Jim.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Use BioCheck to check your ancestors, enter desired number of generations. For results, select sources for all profiles. Then use browser find (e.g., Ctrl-F) to search. Alternatively export CSV into a spreadsheet and search that.
