Hi Integrators Challenge Participants!

It's time for this month's Integrators Challenge. Prior months' stats can be found here for all the previous G2G Integrators challenges.

1. Answer here (NOT comment). You can use the Challenge Tracker (preferred) or list your contributions in the comments under your answer here. You only need to post once. 
2. If you opt to use the Tracker you are ready to go. (give it a few minutes to be updated for this month). 
3. If you opt to just post in this thread, list the G2G question you worked on and what you did here (answered the question, create a profile, source profile) in a comment on your answer. Number your contributions.
4. All Challenge activity should involve G2G questions from two months ago or more. If the question is unanswered try to answer it.

5. Add the URL/Webpage Address of the question used to create the profile(s) under your Answer here when a profile is created to answer a G2G question. 

Whatever question you choose, look at the information there and check to see if there is a profile on WikiTree yet. Yes? Move whatever information might be in the question to the profile, and put a link to the profile on the question in G2G so everyone is aware there is now a profile on WikiTree.

No profile? Create one (or a few if several people are mentioned in the question, comments, and answers), and do the same as above. 

These are some threads to get you started if you don't want to do some searching on your own. If you use one of these, comment on your post below with which you are working on so you aren't doubling up another's work. Everything should be sourced!

Click here to Create profiles using the Category: Needs Profiles Created. Selecting your Country and State.

1. Create the profile, checking to make sure the profile does not already exist.
2. Using the Tracker, click the Integrators Challenge box, click "New Profile from Needs Profiles Created (Adding URL of the profile Created between the two Parentheses) and click Add Action.
3. Add information to the bio and add sources to improve the profile and click the Integrators Challenge box and select Improve Profile from Needs Profiles Created (Add URL) and backspace out (Add URL) and add the URL of the profile improved.
4. REMOVE  the category line at the top of the bio when you are done creating all the profiles for the family members  ie: [[Category: xxxx Project Needs Profiles Created]]. You can also add the ie: (Category: xxxx Project Needs Profiles Created) to the newly created profile(s) until all the family members have been added and sourced then it needs to be removed.
5. Ask in the G2G Forum if any member is interested in adopting the profile.
6. Try to connect the profile to a family/ancestor or tree already at WikiTree.
7. If you opt to use the Tracker you are ready to go. (give it a few minutes to be updated for this month). 
8. If not using the Tracker, Add the URL/Webpage Address of the profile(s) used to create and improve the new profile(s) under your Answer here when a profile is created.
9. All profiles created and improved need to be from the Category:Needs Profiles Created to count for the challenges. 

The Monthly Challenge runs from midnight the first day of your month and ends at 11:59 the last day of the month, your time.

I am going to try this challenge for the first time. I will start with unanswered questions, and if I run out of those, I will move to profiles that need creation. Not sure if you use teams here, but I usually am on Legacy Heirs, that I would like to stay with please & thanks.

Thank you, N, for joining us for the July G2G Integrators challenge. The header shows how the challenge works and also the Project:Integrators Challenge page also has details on how the challenge works. I will add you to our participant list. We create profiles from questions asked in the G2G Forum two months back and also from the Category:Needs Profiles Created. We do not have Teams like the other WikiTree Challenges. It is no problem for you to stay with the Legacy Heirs as it is a different challenge.

It already had an unsourced profile, but I copied all the info from answers to the profile. Does this count as an Integrators claim or do I only check the box if I created the profile. Thanks

You can improve and source the profile from the question and that will count.

You do need to add the URL of the G2G question you are working on under your answer here on the challenge for any profiles you are improving or creating. Be sure to check the correct radio button on the tracker. I see you have already added the URL of the G2G question, thank you.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding correctly...would participating in the Mayflower Treasure Hunt qualify? Here, Anne B awarded a Best Answer star to me in my first few days on Wikitree. I was so relieved to find such a moderated/facilitated space where I could figure out the interface, adjust to prioritizing free access materials rather than Ancestry, and find my feet in the G2G community. https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1378288/mayflower-treasure-desire-francis-billington-descendant?show=1378288#q1378288 I did contribute to improving the profile even though I had to drop my links to sources in the Treasure Hunt thread because I lacked the qualifications to edit the profile myself. See the challenge details in the header and on the Integrators Challenge page. You would need to answer the question to join the G2G Integrators challenge.

David, Would  you clarify what element of integration is missing in the example of Mayflower Treasure Hunt? Information, sometimes specific records were requested and provided through G2G and profiles were improved. Or perhaps the key element of integration is to look for and resolve old requests that have gone unanswered? I'm fairly new to Wikitree and wish to better understand this challenge description.

Anonymous, the Integrators Challenge project has nothing to do with the Mayflower Treasure hunt. It is a standalone project that creates profiles from questions asked two months back in the G2G forum and creates profiles from the Category:Needs Profiles Created only.

Perhaps they are asking if their G2G response & profile improvement fulfills the requirements of BOTH challenges, can they use the same response to make claims in both challenges.

I would "think" the answer would be yes, but I am not part of wikitree admin, so that is not a yes with any authority.

Hi N, no he would need to sign up as a participant for this challenge and the same G2G question(s) can not be used for two separate challenges.

Thanks for the discussion. I appreciate the help exploring the diversity of projects and programs that are available to people so everyone can find their niche. For now, my main interest is adding to profiles connected to my dad's family and hometown, but I will keep this challenge in mind for friends who might be a better match.
