Does somebody want to create profiles to basically mirror this blog post at WikiTree before somebody copies the wrong parents from ancestry?

Kind regards from sunny Black Forest

If you don't have a volunteer already, I would be happy to help.  Robertson/Roberson/Robison/Robinson features in my brick wall research, as does Alabama. Who knows, maybe it will unlock some answers for me, too.

Please let me know if you want me to work on this. Thank you.

If you want it, it's all yours. It would be awesome if it would help you in your research as well. Else it will maybe only keep people from making the same mistakes - or it will keep WikiTreers from having to fix the result of such a mistake later.

Thanks for helping
Thanks!  I will get started on it by this evening, if all goes as planned.

You're welcome. Have a blessed day.
Thank you for the best answer star. :)

I got Francis Marion Robertson and his wife Sarah "Minnie" Freeman added to WikiTree. In the process of trying to find his mother, Samantha Battles Robertson, as mentioned on The Legal Genealogist post, I found a listing for her via her sister, Margaret Battles Shew

The WikiTree profile was listed as "Semantha Battles", not "Samantha", as written in the LG post.  It was an orphaned profile, so I adopted it. I also connected her to Francis Marion Robertson as his mother.

Should I leave her name spelled as 'Semantha', which seems to be a misspelling to me, or fix it to be "Samantha"?

Thanks for that, especially for finding his mother, which is now already connected to "The Legal Genealogist" Judy G. Russell. I asked her about Semantha, so we'll see. On the other hand "Semantha" currently is the only source we have about her. Looking at her FamilySearch profile, she should also be in the 1860 census.

I guess this is the death record of the other person:

You could put "Samantha" in as a nickname, so that spelling would show up in searches.
You're welcome, Florian.  I will continue to try to find sources for this family.

Thank you for the link.  I believe that you are correct.
Thank you for your suggestion, Sarah. I have now set "Samantha" as a nickname for her.
I've linked Robertson-24694 to this question. Do you think, we should also create a profile for the man he's often confused with?
I think that would be a good thing to do, Florian. Do you want to create that profile?
Thank you!
