I don't understand suggestion Error 843: Missing template (spelling)

I had this error message pop up a couple of times for the same profile, with the detail referring to {{AncestryImage|1210|imaus1787_081359-0388}}

I have only just joined Ancestry and when I found relevant information I used the Wikitree sourcer to create the inline citation. So I don't understand what has gone wrong. Nor do I know how to fix it without removing the source.

Simple explanation, or long explanation with simple language for non-techy person please.

thanks,

Melanie

You need a space between Ancestry and Image. {{Ancestry Image|1234|5678}}

Thank you. Does this mean there is an issue with the wikitree sourcer in that it doesn't put the space in?

I don't think there is an issue with WikiTree Sourcer. I just tried it on that image and it correctly put the space in.

If you look at the change where that source was added some of the added sources have the space and some do not.

My best guess is that the spaces were manually removed, but let me know if you see WikiTree Sourcer generate a template without the space.

Thanks for looking at that Rob. I really appreciate it.

But I didn't change anything when I added the citation the first time. I just used the sourcer on the ancestry page and copied it to clipboard, and then pasted it straight into the profile page. Then, when I saw the suggestions, I tried to figure it out but couldn't - hence put the question on here. Aaron Gullison (as per below) went in and fixed the one I had given as an example.

I then went in and tried to fix the other two, one easily and the other not so easily. I think I might have added too many spaces. Anyhow, the point is, I hadn't changed anything from copying the citation to adding it to the profile. It was only when I got the suggestions alert that I looked into it.

So I don't understand how it went wrong in the first place?
Hi Melanie,

It is hard for me to know what happened during your edit. But I don't see anyway the WikiTree Sourcer code could generate it without a space.

Is it possible that when you pasted it into the profile in edit mode the text wrapping used the space as a wrap point and you thought it looked odd so you removed the space?

i.e. it looked like this:

{{Ancestry Sharing|28609104|876dd8}} - Ancestry {{Ancestry
Image|1210|imaus1787_081359-0388}} (accessed 18 May 2022)

so you changed it to:

{{Ancestry Sharing|28609104|876dd8}} - Ancestry {{AncestryImage|1210|imaus1787_081359-0388}} (accessed 18 May 2022)

I'm just guessing how it might have happened.

Oh you're right! I think that's exactly what happened. Thanks Rob. blush

I just fixed it. The template needed a space after Ancestry, same with "AncestrySharing".
