My brick wall is Sarah Williams, b. 1800 in Tennessee, d. 1865 in Missouri. She was married to William McKissick, Jr. in about 1816. I received an mtDNA match from FamilyTree DNA for [[Jones-83005 | Elizabeth Jones]] with the H haplogroup. Elizabeth lived in Tennessee before 1808 and she has a daughter [[Henry-11712 | Mary "Polly" Henry who is the correct age and she is married to [[Williams-90718 | John Williams. Unfortunately, due to a courthouse fire in Sevier County, Tennessee, census records for 1800, 1810, and 1820 are lost in addition to marriage records from 1794 to 1855, and probate records from 1794 to 1848. Birth records were not kept either.
The only record I have for her family is a land record for John Williams in 1808. In the description of the property, one neighbor is named William Henry, who is most likely Polly's father or brother, and the other neighbor is William McKisick, who is possibly Sarah's father-in-law since her husband was only 15 that year.
I've been searching for years so it is unlikely that I am going to find any records that list Sarah by name in Tennessee. Is the DNA connection and the land record enough to attach Polly Henry and John Williams as her not-confirmed parents?
