Question: Edmond McMahon?

Hoping to get some assistance with a question I have.  This is going to be a bit difficult to follow; bear with me.

From my research, I have been able to confirm the name of my great-great-great-great grandfather on my father's mother's side.  He was an Edmond McMahon, born in County Clare Ireland about 1805.

Edmond had a daughter by the name of Mary McMahon; after marrying an Andrew Curtin, she subsequently became Mary Curtin, who is my 3x great grandmother (great-great-great grandmother).  According to my research, she was born in County Clare in 1835; she died in Kilmallock, Limerick, Ireland in 1890.

Here's where the actual question comes in.  I'm trying to find out if this Mary McMahon Curtin had a brother by the name of Roderick McMahon, and a nephew of Roderick James "Jess" McMahon Sr.

Would anyone know the answer to this question, or be able to help me out by any chance? I'd very much appreciate any information that I might receive.

Thanks much in advance.

Find My Past is not giving any results for a Roderick McMahon or variants with a father Edmond for 20 years either side of Mary's birth year of 1835 in Ireland.

There are 2 court entries in Galway and those are the only entries in Ireland and they are Mahon not McMahon.

Also looked under MacMahon, Mac Mahon, M'Mahon and Mmahon and not a single Rod, Roddy or Roderick to be seen, in fact curiously no R names like Richard at all.

I am sending you the census forms for 1841 1851 for County Clare and other information to look into,  which may or may not contain anything for you.  Please note that in County Clare McMahon is MacMahon in most instances.   https://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/census_search_forms/surname_lm.htm
and more  https://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/genealog.htm

Perhaps you should start searching backwards from Jess MacMahon,  is this him?   https://ancestors.familysearch.org/en/KL89-62T/roderick-james-%22jess%22-mcmahon-1882-1954

Many user-donated family trees at ancestry.com have indeed conflated your ancestor [[McMahon-4680|Mary Curtin née McMahon]], who died in Moveen, County Clare, on 6 Apr 1893, with an unmarried namesake Mary Curt(a)in of Kilfinane, who died at Kilmallock workhouse in County Limerick on 1 Aug 1890.  The death certificates are at

and

respectively.
