102-year old D-Day vet Alphonse Vautour, who was honoured by France with the Legion of Honour, has died.

His obituary mentioned his interest in genealogy, as well as the remarkable fact that several of his late siblings also lived past 100.

Although I have no personal connection, I felt compelled to start a profile for Alphonse: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Vautour-302 ; I'd appreciate if anyone wanted to make improvements and/or add some family. (Also happy to pass on management to a relative or interested party).

Rest in peace, Alphonse, and thank you.

Thank you! Looks like I have an ancestor in common... hopefully the longevity genes, too
