Advice for categorization of Orr-8086?

I would like advice or may need help creating a new category for the profile of Laverne C (Orr) Barnard. The category might be named something like Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge, Michigan

Could I get help creating the new category? Or is there an existing category to use? Thank you!

So, you have the correct name. [[Category:Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge, Michigan]] Add that to the profile above the ==Biography==.

THe category link will be red, so add the category info box and save. This will add the category to the structure.

THIS goes on the CATEGORY PAGE, not the profile:

{{CategoryInfoBox Cemetery

|name= Oaklawn Cemetery

|aka=Stockbridge Cemetery; Oaklawn Cemetery

|parent=Ingham County, Michigan

|location= Stockbridge, Michigan

|findagraveID= 1279 |

coordinate= 42.4474983,-84.1742020

|address=S Williams Street, Stockbridge, Michigan }}

Then save the category page and you should be done.
Thanks so much Natalie.  I didn’t realize I was allowed to create categories on my own.  Now I won’t have to bother people anymore!  Though I’m sure questions will come up.

You're welcome. Here is the template page for the cemetery category info box, with parameters. You need to use the REQUIRED parameters, and can use any of the preferred or optional ones.

I add one like this:

{{CategoryInfoBox Cemetery |name= |aka= |parent= |location= |findagraveID= |coordinate= |address= }}

for aka, remember to separate the names by a semicolon so they don't all appear on one line in the final CIB on the category page.

Sometimes you will get a red category when you fill in location field (which is a required field), so you may also have to set that up. Any questions, just ask in g2g.

That’s great.  I just added another cemetery, and as you said might happen, the town category doesn’t exist yet.  Not sure exactly what to put in the box to create it’s category.  Can you give a hint?

Thanks!
Actually there is a category for the town (Fredericksburg, Lebanon County, PA) so I’m not sure why it is red in my new cemetery (Saint John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery). Any thoughts?

Jeff
