Help finding father of Thomas Barton?

The question is… can anyone help me connect Barton-10674 across the “pond”? Who is Barton-10674’s father?

In the graveyard where I plan to be buried, I find a family of Bartons that are late immigrants to America. (I am a Barton and they are my nemeses. I am still stuck on my gggrandfather Elijah Barton-7495.)

My guess they came over in about 1845, not exact. The oldest is Thomas Barton-10674. He has a son Thomas Barton-10673 who also came over. I do not know if they traveled together. Both had wives named Mary. They lived and farmed in the Southern Wisconsin area and were likely Primitive Methodists.

Maybe I will eventually connect the lines and be buried next to a relative.

Tried looking a bit but can't find anything solid - I attached the source for his will / estate / probate file to his Wikitree profile.

Looking at the record, my best guess would be to work backwards, as we have the date of birth in his son's record in multiple places as 8 Oct 1843 in England - if someone more familiar with England records could locate that , and then align that with the other children, it may be a way to find a match.
Thanks for that. Yes, that would be a good approach. But I have not found the link. The other thing would be to find the immigration record to get an idea of location if lucky.

Is this the right family in Wisconsin in 1850? If so, you could try searching for them on the 1841 census of England & Wales. It looks like Thomas and Mary had a daughter, Elizabeth, by then. Unfortunately it's the least helpful of the censuses and doesn't give relationships or birthplaces, but it would be a start.

Yes, this is the correct family. It helps fill in the picture. What I am interested in is the father of the older Thomas in this servey. Thanks.
I think you will have to find out when and where the younger Thomas Barton was born before you can move on to researching his father.
I believe he was born in England. Maybe you mean more specifically?
Barton is quite a common name, so yes, I think you’ll need to find out more to be sure of identifying the right people. Have a search of the civil registration births index at gro.gov.uk or FreeBMD.org.uk and see how many Thomas Bartons were registered in 1843.

To complicate matters, nonconformist records aren’t as well covered as Church of England online.
